JW Hinks takes on the Royal Sutton Fun Run

JW Hinks, official sponsors of the Royal Sutton Fun Run, are sending a 10-person team to tackle the 8.5-mile course on 2nd June this year, raising funds for our new charity partner, Safe Families. This year’s runners are: James Cruse, Hamid Bukhari, Matt Page, Tom Chew, Bradley Adams, Aamir Shahzad, Yanli Wang, Caitlin Oakes, Mohammed Daniel, and Visvesh Veeraiyan.

JW Hinks became an official commercial partner to the Royal Sutton Fun Run in 2023 after many years of admiration. At the time, Fun Run director Vanessa Hoe said: “At the completion of the year’s event, we’re reasonably confident we will break £5 million having been raised since 1982 and that’s in part to the invaluable support we receive from our commercial partners including JW Hinks. We’re excited about developing our relationship in future years anticipating JW Hinks will use the Fun Run to encourage staff and clients to participate and raise money for their chosen charity and continue their work in supporting local charities.”

Vanessa was right – since its founding in 1982, the Fun Run has donated £5.1 million to charity, an incredible figure. We’re very proud to be a part of it.

The Royal Sutton Fun Run began with a conversation between Brian Latham and Roy Spare in 1981. In 1982, Spare organised the first ever event. 1300 people participated, and £13,000 was raised for mostly-local charities. After 21 years, the event ended, having raised £1.25 million for charity. However, it was resurrected in 2003 by commercial partners who continue to play a large part in its growing success. Last year, 4000 entrants (70 of which were dogs) raised an incredible £187,100 for charity.
