Staff away day: A day of mindset, reflection, and collaboration

Last month, on Tuesday, 15 July 2025, the JW Hinks team gathered for our annual staff away‑day at Avery Fields home to Bournville Rugby Football Club, a day thoughtfully designed to align with our values of creativity, innovation, and professional development.

Morning | Nurturing a growth mindset with bounce

We kicked off with an energising session led by Rebecca Mander and Barry White, introducing JW Hinks staff to the award-winning Bounce Mindset Programme. Their interactive workshop emphasised:

• Applying goal-setting techniques that empower purpose-driven development

This inspiring session reaffirmed JW Hinks commitment to equipping staff with practical tools to support both their personal and professional journeys, guided by a powerful growth framework.

Afternoon | Collaboration in motion with Eventurous Ltd

After lunch, the team joined Eventurous Ltd, a UK-based corporate events agency with over 30 years of experience in bespoke team-building activities, for an engaging series of brain-teasing challenges and cryptic puzzles. The tasks encouraged:

• Creative thinking under pressure
• Clear communication across teams
• Collaborative problem-solving in high-energy settings

The resulting mix of fun and teamwork throughout the session served as a reminder of the power of collective intelligence when aligned behind a shared goal.
