One of Birmingham’s leading firms of accountants JW Hinks LLP has celebrated the career of one of its partners who is retiring from the practice after more than three decades of service.
Paul Jones has been with JW Hinks for 36 years, having joined in 1980 after completing his training with national firm Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.
Just two years after joining the practice he was promoted to partner and has spent his long time at the firm advising clients on a wide range of issues, including compliance and corporate finance work.
However, Paul wasn’t the first member of his family to become a partner at the firm. He followed in the footsteps of his father Deryck Jones, who was a partner at the firm for a number of decades as well.
Paul said: “I am sad to be leaving so many of my colleagues at JW Hinks having spent so many years of my life working closely with them.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a partner, but I am now looking forward to having more time to spend with my family and friends. I would like to thank all of the staff and partners at JW Hinks for the fond memories that I will be taking with me.”
In his spare time Paul has helped a number of charities through his association with the Rotary Club. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Smethwick and continues to take an active interest in charity work.
Paul has also taken part in a number of charity events for the firm that have supported various charities across the West Midlands.
Neal Aston, managing partner at JW Hinks, said: “Paul has played an important part in the success of the firm, just like his father before him and he will be sorely missed.
“He has dedicated over 35 years to the practice and under his leadership as Managing Partner from 2008 to 2015 Paul successfully led the mergers with Austral Ryley and Mason Law’
“Everyone at JW Hinks would like to wish Paul the very best for the future and we hope he enjoys his retirement.”
