One of Birmingham’s leading firms of independent chartered accountants, JW Hinks LLP, has announced its new Charity of the Year, Burnaid.
The West Midlands-based cause supports the region’s burns centres at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
Throughout the year the team at JW Hinks, located in Edgbaston, will carry out a number of fundraising events and take part in challenges to raise money for Burnaid.
The firm is currently working towards their first event, a charity car wash in collaboration with Perry Barr Fire station on 25th November, to help raise awareness of both the charity’s and fire station’s hard work.
Neal Aston, Managing Partner at JW Hinks, said: “We are very excited to be supporting Burnaid this year and all the fantastic work it does to help people in the West Midlands.
“We have a lot planned to help us raise money for this wonderful cause and we hope that we can break all of our previous year’s records for fundraising to help this charity continue to provide services to burn survivors.”
Jean Woodall-Llewellyn- Chairperson of Burnaid said: “Burnaid is a small local charity that supports the Burns Centre at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Our aim is to offer support to both adults and children who have sustained a burn injury along with supporting their families.
“We do this by providing financial support for patients and their families, funding support group activities, providing opportunities for staff training and purchasing equipment for the Burns centre, including burn prevention material.
“All funds raised are used for the said support; there are no paid members of this charity.
We feel honoured and privileged that JW Hinks have thought to make us their Charity of the Year and would welcome working alongside them to promote their efforts.”
JW Hinks has a long and proud history of supporting local causes and each year selects a local charity to benefit from its fundraising.
