Edgbaston-based chartered accountancy firm JW Hinks has taken on five new members of staff as it looks to expand and improve the services it offers to clients.
Joining the firm are tax advisors Lisa Boylan, Rebecca Wooldridge and Tina Yates, payroll administrator Jenny Lai and trainee accountant Bethany Davis.
35 year-old Lisa joins the firm after 14 years at Lloyds TSB Private Banking where she started her career as a tax advisor. Experienced in tax and payroll, she works with a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses.
Rebecca, 33, has joined the firm from Wolverhampton-based Muras Baker Jones LLP. A qualified Chartered Accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Rebecca’s expertise includes accounts and taxation advice for clients including owner-managed businesses, directors, partnerships and farming businesses.
Tina has a 30 year career in accountancy having started in the profession in 1984. She moved to tax work in 1989, joining the Association of Taxation Technicians in 1991. Tina is a specialist in personal tax, and works with individuals, partnerships and sole traders.
Sage Payroll qualified Jenny, 26, joins JW Hinks from a mid-tier accountancy firm in the West Midlands where she worked as a payroll administrator.
As well as being experienced in payroll, she is also an expert in the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and works with clients including nurseries, builders, dentists, doctors, restaurants and pubs, fast food takeaways, and recruitment agencies.
24 year-old trainee Bethany joins the firm after working as a finance assistant at a local firm of solicitors. She graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011 with a degree in accounting and finance and is currently studying for her ACA qualification from the ICAEW.
