Accountants from JW Hinks LLP have raised £3,500 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice in a year of fundraising activities.
St Mary’s, which provides hospice care to people across Birmingham and Sandwell, was chosen as JW Hinks’ Charity of the Year in June 2016.
The Edgbaston-based Chartered Accountancy firm presented the cheque to the Birmingham St Mary’s on 17 July 2017.
The past 12 months have seen the team take part in the Birmingham Half Marathon, present a rock’n’roll gig (featuring local band The Quad Rox), run the Jingle Bell Jog in Kings Heath Park, and host their very own Great Bake Off.
Neal Aston, Managing Partner at JW Hinks, said: “The team have done an excellent job raising money for such a brilliant charity.
“We set a goal of £3,000 in June last year, and I’m happy to say we’ve smashed it. Thank you to everyone who’s helped us in our efforts.”
Charlotte Anson, corporate partnerships manager at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, said: “It’s been a fantastic year of fundraising for JW Hinks – from its unforgettable ‘Quad Rox’ tribute gig to striking gold again at the Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge – and we would like to thank all of the staff for getting involved and helping us to help others.
“We were honoured to be the firm’s charity of the year and with thanks to their generous support and incredible fundraising, we can continue to offer free vital care to local individuals and families living with terminal illness across Birmingham and Sandwell.”
