We are delighted to announce the appointment of Neal Aston to the position of managing partner.
He has taken over from, Paul Jones, who has been behind much of JW Hinks’ success over the last seven years.
Neal joined JW Hinks, then John W Hinks & Co, in 1984 as an audit junior and has spent the last three decades working his way up to the position of managing partner.
During his time at the firm he has seen the practice undergo four mergers and even met his wife Carole at the firm in 1987, before marrying her in 1992.
He said: “Having joined JW Hinks LLP in 1984 as an audit junior I feel immensely proud to be taking over as managing partner. I have seen a lot of changes over the years and am looking forward to some exciting times ahead for the firm.”
He said he hopes to continue on with the success experienced under Paul Jones’ leadership, but also work on driving the firm forwards using his energy, drive and enthusiasm to build on the firm’s excellent reputation in the business community.
“I hope to continue building on the changes that myself and my fellow partners have implemented over recent years,” said Neal.
“We have recently successfully integrated two practices into JW Hinks and changed the structure to promote our core and specialist services as well as new services.
“Involving our team of valued employees by encouraging them to participate more in the future of the practice is something that I am really keen to promote.
“We have an excellent team and everyone deserves the opportunity to take part in the future of the firm.”
Under his guidance he also intends to build upon the firm’s reputation as an outstanding provider of advice to individuals and businesses alike, by ensuring that anyone who has involvement with JW Hinks feels that their experience is the same whoever they deal with at all levels across the firm.
Commenting on his appointment, Paul Jones said: “After a number of years as Managing Partner of the firm, the time has come to pass over the reins to a new incumbent.
“Having worked with Neal for some considerable time, I know that he has the drive and enthusiasm to move the firm on to the next phase of its life, ensuring the continuity of client service that has enabled JW Hinks to be a successful independent firm of chartered accountants since 1896!”
In response Neal added: “I think it only fair that we recognise the contribution that Paul has made to the firm not only during his time as managing partner but as a partner beforehand.
“Paul is Hinks ‘through and through’ and led us during the recent recession and was instrumental in managing our two mergers in 2012.
“Paul’s leadership and commitment will be difficult to follow, but I have learnt much from him over the last two to three years working closely together, and I will continue to value his advice and support as he moves into the role as the firm’s senior partner.”
Despite, stepping down as managing partner, Paul Jones, will remain a partner at the firm and continue to be involved in the development and success of JW Hinks.
