JW Hinks LLP has managed to raise £5,200 for local charity, Burnaid, following a year of fundraising activities
The West Midlands-based charity supports burn survivors and their families at specialist centres within Birmingham Children’s Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They were chosen by JW Hinks as our ‘Charity of the Year’ back in July 2017.
Our team presented the cheque to the charity on Wednesday 29 August this year.
The past twelve months have seen JW Hinks take part in a number of fundraising events, including a Charity Car Wash in collaboration with Perry Barr Fire station, a Wacky Races-themed race night and the ‘Wolf Run’, in which Payroll Compliance Manager, Sally Smith, raised over £1,200.
Neal Aston, Managing Partner at JW Hinks, said: “The team deserves tremendous praise for such amazing efforts to help support such a wonderful charity.
“Our aim this year was to beat the amount of money we raised last year, and I’m delighted to say we’ve done exactly that. Thank you to everyone who has donated.”
Helen King, Honorary Secretary of Burnaid, said: “We were delighted to be chosen by JW Hinks to be their charity of the year. Burnaid is a very small low-profile charity and relies totally on donations to carry out our work.
“We were totally astounded that the staff at JW Hinks had raised £5,200 for us. This is one of the largest single donations that we have ever received and we are so grateful to everyone that helped to raise this amazing sum in such innovative ways.”
JW Hinks has a long and proud history of supporting local causes and each year selects a local charity to benefit from its fundraising. This year’s chosen cause will be announced in the near future.
