AB Taylor Funeral Services Ltd is a family firm of funeral directors, founded by Sue Taylor’s grandfather just after the First World War. It has been a limited company since 1958.
JW Hinks has acted as the company’s accountancy firm for the last 15 years, following a recommendation from their solicitor when the previous accountant retired. Such loyalty has been inspired by the fact that JW Hinks is a “traditional company with extremely pleasant staff” as well as everything being done in a timely fashion.
“If someone is giving a good service at a fair price, we will stay with them,” Miss Taylor explains.
In addition to taking care of the accounts for AB Taylor Funeral Services, JW Hinks also operates the payroll and provides financial updates through publications and emails.
JW Hinks supported the funeral directors through a tax investigation, gathering all the required information and attending meetings with the inspectors. In the end, HM Revenue & Customs could not find anything wrong with the accounts.
“Whenever needed, JW Hinks is there with sound and timely advice,” says Miss Taylor. “We know the staff, who have been there for many years, so we are not continuously working with new faces who do not understand the needs of our business.”
Miss Taylor has already recommended JW Hinks to businesses of a similar size and individuals, due to the good service provided by the firm.
“They don’t advertise all over the place and don’t ram things down our throats – we are not sent unsolicited emails every week regarding matters that are not relevant to us. Overall, JW Hinks has a traditional and highly professional approach, providing good service and timely advice in a friendly manner.”
